Doggy Dinner Recipe For Your Dog!

Homemade Doggy Dinners has been working hard on a recipe book along with our original products and we'd love to share a recipe you and your friends can do while BBQing for yourselves! With summer coming and lots of BBQ's on the horizon, wouldn't it be a fun activity to cook for yourselves and also make your Dog something special?
Below is Homemade Doggy Dinners favorite summertime meal for your dog:

Mini Slider Burgers

1 Pita, cut into fours
½ lb of ground turkey, beef or lamb
1 tablespoons of finely diced carrot
1 tablespoons of finely diced zucchini
A pinch of parsley

In a large bowl mix ground meat, parsley and veggies together and form into 4 small burgers. Grill burgers for 5-7 min on each side, if you use ground turkey you want to make sure the meat is fully cooked with no pink.

Place meat patties inside pita, you can chop it up into pieces for smaller dogs.
Let burgers cool to a warm temperature; do not give it to your dog hot off the grill.

Good Doggy Day Care!

A good Doggy Day Care is hard to find, but here are a few great places Homemade Doggy Dinners suggests in Orange County and Los Angeles:

Orange County:
Wags and Wigles - Wags and Wiggles - First day is Free! The facility is similar to a dog park. The dogs can play freely and are always monitored. They have indoor and outdoor play areas with a great staff!
My Doggies Daycare - This daycare was voted Best Dog Daycare in the Orange County Register.

Los Angeles:
Chateau Marmutt - one of my favorites and one where my little one went too when living in LA. Both big and small dogs are allowed and they actually have separate play areas.

LA Dogworks - Another fantastic option in the Los Angeles area. This place is a new LA haute for dogs with their super modern and contemporary environment, all dogs will thrive.

When looking for a place for your dog, Homemade Doggy Dinners suggests you ask your friends. It is always better to get opinions of people you know vs. just going to the place right around the corner - although that may be the place they suggest!

Its Kid friendly and they have live music throughout the day.

I found a great review from someone on YELP:
I was thinking long and hard on what kind of star power I should give the Irvine Farmers Market. I hovered over the four star rating..but thought.. "This place is the best FM I've personally ever been to during my FM crusade!" So, I think Irvine deserves all 5 stars and will hopefully keep up to the hype I'm about to give them.

Ingredients To Look For When Purchasing Dog Food!

We at, Homemade Doggy Dinners, pride ourselves on using the best ingredients only from the USA. However, not every dog food out there does the same thing. Below is a short list of what you should look for when purchasing dog food if you are crazy enough not to order Homemade Doggy Dinners ;-)

1) The #1 ingredient needs to be a true meat source, not a by-product or meat meal. It should read Chicken, Lamb or Beef etc.
2) Look for ingredients from the USA, not China.
3) Look for natural preservatives or no preservatives is the best option.

"What do cancer, kidney disease, pancreatic disease, allergies, hair loss, blindness and immunodeficiency have in common? Preservatives used in dog food have been blamed for causing every one of these problems" - Written by Dr. Lisa Freeman, DVM
If you are interested in the full article from the above quote, please to go: Dog Food Preservatives and you can also contact us at: Homemade Doggy Dinners for any questions or concerns.

1) During your daily walk w/ your dog, incorporate short sprints every other block.
2) Take your dog to the beach and do a short beach run - They'll love it!

Importance of Doggy Massage

Homemade Doggy Dinners recommends other healthy measures besides Dog Food to dog owners. Doggy Massage is a very important element to your dog's health.
Just like human beings, dogs have muscles that can get strained due to a variety of reasons. Some of the reasons for muscle failure in dogs are:

• Imperceptible structural imbalances
• Injuries, such as those incurred when running
• A period of inactivity, which may be as a result of injury, illness, or old age among others
• Stiffness from complications like arthritis
Doggy Massage will enhance your dog's life and help the above issues your dog may be suffering. For more information on this subject go to: Doggy Massage or contact us at Homemade Doggy Dinners.
